Sexually Transmitted Infections...
We offer a totally confidential STI service, as an alternative to attending the GUM (Genito-Urinary Medicine department) at either Chesterfield Royal Hospital (CRH) or the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH).
If you believe you have, of believe you might be at risk of acquiring a sexually transmitted disease, please make an appointment with a GP or PN (Sue/Ruth).
A history, examination and relevant tests will be performed and results will be available in under a week.
We advised abstinence during this interval, and any treatment period.
Treatment on prescription (where necessary) will be available at the follow-up appointment.
Where certain STIs are diagnosed, you will be expected to inform any sexual contacts to enable them to get checked-out.
