Referrals:

This leaves many patients with skin or subcutaneous lesions which they may wish to be removed, but which will now need to be performed as a private procedure.

We are happy to refer patients privately to other GPs in Dronfield who are able to provide this service, or to private clinics, but we are not allowed (for reasons relating to conflict of interest) to refer our own patients to ourselves.

Private procedures @ GVMC:

We are able to accept patients referred by their GP with an accompanying referral letter from other practices on a private basis.

Referral is no guarantee of a particular procedure being performed, as each case will be assessed by the doctor. Some cases may be technically more suitable for an alternative procedure or be deemed more suitable for operation in a private hospital setting for safety reasons.

For procedures performed @ GVMC, patients will be consented by the performing doctor.

Patients will receive a Patient Information Leaflet regarding aftercare and the referring GP, a copy of the procedure notes.
