The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act:

Under the FOI act, public bodies are obliged to:

	Provide a "Schedule of Publications", detailing the information available to the public.
	General Practices, although independent contractors to the NHS, also need to declare the amounts of public monies received.

	Audits
	Policies
	Newsletters & Practice Leaflet
	General information regarding services and times

We would ask you to provide the usual acknowledgements if you use this information for other purposes.

Public monies received: For the last financial year (2004/5), the audited accounts show a total of £(TBA) public monies on the "income" side of the practice income and expenditure sheet.

This figure then pays for the GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Manager, Reception staff, Counsellor and all general running costs of the practice (building rental, insurances, telephones & other utilities, Out Of Hours cover, etc, etc).
